Our Final and Fabulous Christmas

Last, but certainly not least, we had papa and Lita come to visit on Monday the 29th and it was such a nice and quiet time together! The spoiling continued with Danny's first bike and some amazing handmade gifts for house compliments of Dan and his woodworking skills! I must have been seriously slacking on the picture taking front because I only have one crappy iPhone shot of poor Lita! :(

Like granddad, like grandson

Danny ignoring everyone with his Kindle Fire Kids from Grandma Martha
Watching surf movies with dad

And check out Dan's handiwork - bodysurfing handplanes, log side table and NC wall art. Impressive stuff!

Season's Greetings from South Carolina Ave and Southport

Christmas Eve and Christmas morning were spent at home just me, Jimmy, Crew and Danny. We set out cookies, milk and carrots and read The Night Before Christmas and then went on Santa duty. Danny snuck downstairs without us knowing it and spotted his fire truck before we could get the video rolling, so instead of capturing his amazement we just captured him asking for his fire truck. Oh well!

Later that day, Stefanie and Kevin arrived from Virginia Beach where they had been visiting the Long clan. We couldn't have been happier to have them in town all the way from Half Moon Bay, CA!

The Saturday after Christmas we all took the ferry down to Southport to spend some time and get completely spoiled by Grandma and Grandpa in their future home of St. James Plantation. Luckily, Ron's daughter, Erin, came along too, so it was a packed house and a ton of fun!

Nana's Noel

On Monday, my dad and Grandma hit the road but Ali, Dieter and Colin stuck around to celebrate Christmas with my mom. Sadly, Crew and Danny both came down with strep throat, but quickly recovered and we were able to have another couple jolly days together!

A Heintzelman Holiday

The Friday before Christmas we started our holiday celebration with my dad and family, including my grandma in town from Ohio, as well as Colin, Dieter and Ali. Danny was a ham per usual. We ate, drank and were merry.

Setting the Stage...

I love, love, love decorating for the holidays, but it's honestly amazing that we pulled anything off this year with these two crazy kids! Huge thanks to Grandpa Ron for helping with the outdoor lights!
