Catching Flies

Between jabbering and his new favorite wide open mouth expression, I'm afraid our boy is going to catch some flies! I just love babies' mouths, I share this obsession with my Grandma Heintzelman (Hi Grandma!), so I think it's pretty cute...

P.S. Daddy is to thank for these pics. He and Danny had a little photo shoot while I got a little extra sleep Sunday morning.

Glamour Shots

Though I think my son looks adorable in the pitch dark, I think my favorite angle has to be a 3/4 profile. Or maybe that's just the angle I get the most because Danny is already OVER me taking so many pictures of him...

I swear I didn't stage this, but our comforter definitely looks like a Charmin backdrop ;)

Day Date to Masonboro

Today my mom watched Danny for a couple hours, so Jimmy and I could take the boat and escape to Masonboro Island. It was a fun and beautiful day.

We saw dolphins...

We took in the Intracoastal and island scenery...

We beachcombed for treasures...

Jimmy made a friend with another island visitor...

Thanks for such a nice ride, girl. Yes, our boat is a female...

Shake, Rattle & Roll

Danny is definitely loving all things he can shake or swat. He's such an active boy...

Is favorite "toy" though remains his own fingers...

Weekend in Review

Helped mom make Daddy a cookie cake...

Note: This is why bumbos were recalled. Could easily fall out if unattended!

Practiced my "mini push-up"...

And last, but certainly not least, started consistently rolling over from back to belly!

Growing Up

Last night, we started putting Danny in night time specific, gigantic diapers after his bath because, let's face it, the early morning blowout ratio was not in our favor. I call them his "baby depends".

And then this morning, Danny had his first solids - 1 tablespoon of rice cereal to 4 tablespoons of breast milk.  Our pediatrician recommended we give it a try since getting Danny to focus during nursing is so challenging. If he tolerates that well, we'll be slowly introducing other foods. Here's a video of Danny eating this morning. I think we got more on his bid, bumbo and dining room table than in his mouth. Our baby is growing up...

Rice cereal "beard"
Speaking of growing up, Danny was in the 50-75th percentile for height, weight and head circumference, or "perfect", at his 4 month wellness check-up.
