Mother's Day

We're gearing up to celebrate Jimmy this weekend for Father's Day (as well as the fabulous Grandpas in our life), but I still need to share about my very special Mother's Day weekend! First up was grilling out on the North End with Nana (Jerry's idea since my mom had to work on Sunday). Jessica and John were in town, so Dan, Marisol and family attended as well!

And then on Sunday it was breakfast out, following by a beach day, if I remember correctly, a nap for both me and the boys, and then dinner out. As much as I love cooking, it's nice to be out of the kitchen for a whole day!

So honored to be a mom and so thankful for the moms before me and everything you do for my kiddos. xoxo

Sporting

As I write this, Danny has moved on from tball and is now halfway through the UNCW Seahawk Swim School (more to come on that later). Our little athlete. But I couldn't resist sharing these remaining pictures from his first tball season.

Snuggles and Cereal Monster

I'd be lying if I said that Danny and Crew got really along well. They actually fight, push and bicker most of the day. The good thing, I guess, is that they "take turns" instigating. It's frustrating because when they've been away from each other for a little while like first thing in the morning, after naps, etc, they're all smiles, saying hi to each other, even hugging. I know it's just part of being siblings and their relationship will evolve over the years, but still. Interested (slightly scared) to see what adding another brother does to the dynamic. Enough negativity and apprehension though, the following pics are in honor of those good moments when our boys are oh so sweet. And, yes, I know Danny is wearing Santa pjs. He loves them, so what's a momma to do.

Danny goes through weeks where he wakes up a little earlier than normal and wants to crawl in bed with me in the AM. We snuggle and doze. It's lovely.

Random, but cereal is Crew's jam. If you can't find him, he's in the pantry with his hands in a cereal box...until, that is, Jimmy found room for the cereal on our higher shelves.

Old McFaye's Farm Field Trip

Danny just had his first field trip recently and I was so fortunate to be able to attend! We went to Old McFaye's Farm and it was a blast with all his little friends. It's a St. James Day School policy that no siblings are allowed on field trips, so Danny was so excited to have the one-on-one time with mommy!

Mason rode with us!

First pony ride

And when mommy and Danny are away on the field trip, Crew eats chocolate pudding at the park with Lita. Tough life my kids live...

Love Where You Live

Some of these pics are old (hence the sweatshirts in a few), but we've been really enjoying the beach this year! Danny likes looking for sharks teeth and sea glass and is quite good at it. Both kiddos like when Jimmy build them a pool where the waves break and insist on snacking the whole time we're there. My little food monsters. Makes them take great naps though, so I'm all about it!

School Days

I'm not sure the last time I gave an update on the boys' "schooling", but they just finished out the school year last week and did great!

Crew went from being distraught when I left him and a little weepy throughout the morning to being the "class clown" per his teachers. Looking in the window into his classroom before pick-up, I'd see him happily doing ring-around-the-rosie and sitting on the storytime rug listening to Mrs. Thomas' animated renditions! Because of his birthdate and estimated kindergarten start year (sniff, sniff), he'll repeat in the same toddler class next year. Which is great because he - and we - already loves those teachers.

Danny randomly regressed to be being weepy at drop-off again, saying he didn't want to leave me, but his teachers assured me that he was happy and having fun the second he got to his classroom. And he's definitely found his clique - Myles, Michael and Mason. Talks about these boys and their truck-playing antics all the time. So sweet because Myles actually came all the way from Leland to watch Danny play tball the other night. Best buds. And we have absolutely loved Danny's teachers this year as well. Fours class in the fall or bust!
