Anniversary & Sunday Funday

September 19th, two thursdays ago, was our 4 year wedding anniversary. How'd we celebrate? Well Thursday we took advantage of a generous gift card to Havanas from Martha and Ron. Havanas is where we had our rehearsal dinner four years ago - a little different experience now with Danny - and one of our favorite restaurants on the island. Yum! Thanks again Martha and Ron!

Saturday we had reservations to Manna in downtown Wilmington and a babysitter for the night (Nana), so we decided to really make the most of the free time and had some great wine/beer and antipasto plate at my favorite wine bar, Fortunate Glass, first.

And then dinner and dessert at Manna was AMAZING, but what came next was arguably better... drinks at Satellite with Matt and Kari, in town from Charleston that night. The rest of the pics in this post are all sourced to Kari. Thank you, thank you, thank you Nana for taking Danny for the night!

And then with Matt and Kari still in town the next day, we had a sunday funday. Complete with two TVs in our small living room and lots of yummy food. The Panthers and the Redskins both played at 1 - Matt and Jimmy were like kids on Christmas. Too bad the Redskins lost :(

Shame on us for not having a single picture of the happy couple on our special day, but a very belated "happy anniversary to us" regardless! It's been a great 4 years - so excited for what the future holds!

Today is Jimmy's big birthday complete with homemade "hostess cupcakes", presents and dinner out with me and Danny.

Fishies

I know first-hand from when I was kid that fish are a volatile pet, but when the owner of Jimmy's company offered us a free tank set-up, we said what the heck. Danny LOVES the aquarium - he'll love to have his own personal tank at home. Meet pink, green, orange, thing 1 and thing 2 or as Danny calls them all "turtles".

I'm delayed on this post - sadly we've already lost thing 1 and thing 2, but pink, green and orange are still kicking. And we were right, Danny does love having his own thank. He never passes by without acknowledging their presence and never goes downstairs without saying goodbye. And watching them swim with daddy has become a post-bath ritual.

First Shoes

Danny has been walking for some time now, but had refused to wear shoes. Well just the other weekend that changed when we went shoe shopping in this awesome taxi cart at the mall and got him his "monkey man" Vans.

I had gotten him another pair of shoes at Target a couple weeks prior but he wouldn't wear them. Now he requests I put them on him!

My First Jersey

This awesome new addition to Danny's wardrobe came in the mail on Friday just in time for me to put him in it before daddy walked in the door from work. Thank you Grandma Martha and Ron! Now hopefully Danny can bring the Redskins some good luck!

More Aquarium Fun

Having a membership to the Fort Fisher Aquarium has been awesome so far! Danny's attention span is pretty short these days, so it's great that it's only a five minute drive to get there. We either go for the 10:30am dive show or at the very end of the day if his afternoon nap was a little short - either way we only stay for 30-60 mins. Perfect just to burn some energy.

Danny is almost 16 months old, which means he's had over a year of me and Jimmy in complete awe of his every move - typical parents - so now he's imitating our "wow, good job, Danny" expression with what we call his "ghost face".  If he does anything right or anything impressive, this is what you get in response...
