Not Yet and 2010 First

Saturday I picked up Miss Bailey Lea for my long anticipated one-on-one 24 hours with the little bug. We had a wonderful time together, but I must say, I never knew having a baby was so tiring. Until now, I was that girl that questioned why moms ended up on TLC's "What Not to Wear" in their husband's flannel without any hair style or make-up. Two hours into our visit, I had spit up on me, which I regretted to clean-up or get rid of by changing into fresh clothes - who has time? About 2.5 seconds after I brought Bailey into our home, I put my hair in a ponytail. Why style your hair when you should be living in fear that your baby is going to rip it out the very first chance they get? Did you know that babies eat every three hours and between feedings they need their wet, or even worse dirty, diapers changed?? My baby fever pre-Bailey visit was a dangerous, in need of an ice bath, 104 plus. Now, I'm coasting at a luke warm 100.4, still dying to be a mommy, but super happy to be a newlywed with no one to worry about but me, Jimmy and Malloy.

Lauren dressed Bailey in a shirt that said, "Kiss me for good luck." This is me putting her to sleep with her dinner bottle. Dang it. Lauren said to keep her on a schedule. No wonder she woke up at 4:30AM.

God heard my prayers and put Bailey to sleep after her 5:30AM bottle so I could make myself some much needed coffee. How can something so small wreak so much havoc on our house?

Bailey sitting up in her boppy and ducky pajamas - note the feet. So cute.

Sunday I turned in Bailey for a long afternoon nap and a night out with Jimmy. We rode our bikes to the Tiki Bar for dinner and drinks - a first for 2010. Despite the fact that I am enjoying the "me" time, I must admit that I miss her warm body and smiles ;)

Melange a Trois

My super cool friend, Amie, and two of her best friends from college have started a food blog. If you are like me and you're always trying to come up with new recipes and experiment with new ingredients, you must make Melange a Trois one of your frequent blog stops. The premise is, three friends, three cities, one ingredient. Amie is in Venice, CA (sigh), Kate P. is in New York and Kate M. is in Florence, Italy. If you've never had a meal prepared by Amie, you're missing out. She's a wonderful cook. And Southern Cali, New York and Italy, come on, what better cities for recipe inspiration. Kudos ladies!

Another Cute One...

All Kelly's bridesmaids at her shower. I'm not really that much shorter than everyone, I just gave up on wearing my heels. How did I get stuck between Kristina and Lindsey?!?

Kelly's Bridal Shower Weekend

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine was a whirlwind, but very fun. Friday night Jimmy and I drove up to Maryland. Saturday Jimmy hung out with this dad and Kevin, while all the ladies ventured into Baltimore for Kelly's Bridal Shower. The maid-of-honor and best friend of the bride hosted the event and I must say she did a wonderful job. The theme was wine and cheese party, so everyone brought a bottle or two. Of course with that much wine drinking to be had, the party couldn't end when all the presents were unwrapped. We ended up going out after the shower was techinically over to a fun Mexican restaurant and a popular Baltimore bar before heading back to Shea's place. It was a short trip, but so worth it to see everyone and celebrate with Kelly. Can't wait for the wedding in a month and 3 days!

Happy Friday!

So happy for the weekend!! I had another super busy work week and I need time to call around and catch up with my friends and family. Jimmy has been on a business trip since yesterday, so Malloy and I have a date this evening to unwind, drink some red wine and watch Precious. Looking forward to having Jimmy home again late tonight...

In other news, next Wednesday marks my first St. Patty's Day as Kaylie O'Connor - said in an Irish accent, I sound like I'm a little leprechaun - and Friday we head up to Maryland for Kelly's Bridal Shower.

The following weekend I get to watch Bailey Saturday day and night while Lauren and Josh attend a wedding. It's going to be so hard to give her back on Sunday. Is she not the sweetest thing?!?!

Shame, Shame

The stress of my job has caused me to come down with something, so I'm now 2 days late starting P90X. Who wants to start an exercise program on Friday evening, so it looks like Saturday morning is our new start date. Chest, Back and Ab Ripper Saturday morning and then Plyometrics on Sunday.

Wait? Wasn't it Plyometrics with Kelly and Jimmy's dad, Dan, that crippled me over Thanksgiving, forcing me to take a muscle relaxer so I could walk without wincing? Oh, this is going to be fun...

Beach Body - T Minus 91 Days

I have been beyond busy with work the last couple of weeks. Late nights and the pressure of Chiat/Day in LA does not even compare. Anyways, I think I am pulling through the worst of it. Wanted to post that I had a wonderful birthday last week! Can't thank everyone enough for the birthday cards, calls, texts and presents!

A couple things of note for the O'Connor household....

Before Kevin escaped to the Virgin Islands, we put him to work helping us around the house. One of the projects was revamping Dan and Marisol's old wicker furniture. Below is the end product. I think it turned out beachy...

We were in serious need of shelf space to put "stuff", so for my birthday we got this second hand book shelf for the living room. I want to install lights in the top to draw attention to the shelves with the arches. Adding a shelf piece meant mounting the surf board. All in all, I think we made some good moves...

Last but not least, the tie to my subject heading, I'm now 91 days away from the beach body of my dreams. Thanks to my grandparents, tomorrow Jimmy and I start P90X. Next time you see me, even if you can't see a difference, lie to me and tell me I look great!
