Update

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted. So sorry! Let's see, what have we been up to? My dad came to town and it was determined that Danny can't say, or doesn't like to say, "grandpa", so both my dad and Jimmy's dad are both "papa". And then the weekend before last I was in Chapel Hill for some shopping for Ali's wedding and then her bridal shower, so Jimmy was on Danny duty. Other than that, it's pretty much just business as usual! Oh, and I did make Danny "model" while I took some pictures for work and took him on his first furniture shopping trip. He was pretty excited that there were so many "seat seats" to try out and insisting on testing every mattress.

The Build: Part 3

Wow, what an exciting month and half it's been since my last house update. All siding, roofing and decking are complete, as well as the first coat of exterior paint. Insulation and dry wall are also done, along with the primer coat of interior paint. As we speak, they're finishing installing the cabinets and tile, but I'm going to wait to show you that until next time!

Just a Boy and His Toys

While we love to play with Danny, it's nice when he decides to just entertain himself for a minute. I thought he looked so cute sitting on porch playing with his matchbox cars the other day.

Test Drive

As we approach Danny's second birthday just a couple months away, we're definitely starting to think about potty training. Who knows how it will go, if he'll be ready, but one things for sure, he has some pretty awesome undies in his favorite character. The other night, Jimmy decided to give them a test drive (with his night time diaper underneath). Thanks Marisol for the great stocking stuffer!

Perched

The first time it happened, I nearly had a heart attack. I turn around for one second and our little climber was up perched in his little Learning Tower. Then I noticed the little rungs on the side and I realized, he's supposed to be able to get up there. Good thing, he's still too timid to try and get down by himself.

Bookworm

Danny's most common chant is, "ah book, ah book, ah book". The kid loves books and even likes to "read" to himself sometimes...

Sick Boy

Wow, it's been a rough week! Danny was diagnosed with a mild case of croup on Monday and then continued to suffer all week from cold symptoms - runny nose that just won't stop and a regular, non-croup cough. Alas, we were quarantined to the house ALL week. And then Thursday night we noticed he felt warm, so I took his temperature and it was 103.2 - the highest we've ever recorded for him. Went to the doc again on Friday and he had ear infection. When it rains it pours, right? The silver lining  to him being so run down was getting to cuddle and watch Finding Nemo together.

It's Sunday now and while I'm confident that the antibiotics have kicked the infection, he's still so fussy and clingy and not eating or drinking like his normal self. Come on Monday, give me back this bruiser...
