Crew at 15 Months

Earlier this week Crew had his 15 month well check-up and the little sucker has shot up to the 90th percentile in height. Maybe it's a sign that he has some Shouse and Spencer family genes in him! He was an absolute angel for the doctor, running around the room in his diaper just flirting and exploring. Made it pretty difficult to explain to her how much trouble I have with his temperament. Must have been the one-on-one mommy attention in a 10x10 room that made him so happy!

In other news, this coming Monday Crew starts one day a week at Danny's school in the toddler class.  I'm thinking the instruction from their great teachers and the group play will be good for him and will allow me a couple more hours a week to do my work. Send positive vibes that he does alright on his first day!

Are my ears hanging out?

Outings

The time period after Christmas but before the weather starts warming up is the WORST! Something about it just makes you not want to do anything, but of course that is not an option with two little kids! So bundle up and do things it is!

Danny at the Civil War reenactment with Papa and Lita. Apparently he kept his ears covered way in advance of any cannons or gunshots just in case...

Painting soldier figurines
At Carolina Gymnastics on MLK day - it was PACKED with all the kids out of school, so it was a constant "Where's Waldo" looking for my two kiddos.

Toddler Woes

So Crew has always been more difficult than Danny was, but we've reached new levels now that he's a toddler. He's clingy, jealous of anyone with my attention/affection, hot-headed, stubborn, screechy, you name it. Dislikes car rides and getting his diaper or clothes changed. He's picky about food and get's especially worked up during transitions and when, for example, you have to take away something he's playing with. Oy vey! About the only thing he's "easy" about is napping and sleeping. All this to say, it's a good thing he's cute because he's giving me a run for my money!

Danny is sweet to him...most of the time
Kind of looks like he only has one arm!
Loves feeding himself - just don't remove his dirty dishes!

In the New Year

Though unfortunately the New Year has been filled with a lot of sickness including a random infected belly button for Danny, we've managed to have some fun too!

Always performing. Yes, I know my Xmas tree is still up

Room with a View

Ugh, I've had another lapse in blogging because I had a horrible flu and then a day later came down with a terrible sore throat that was most likely strep (not mono like the doc originally thought) because I quickly got better with antibiotics. Can't seem to catch a break when it comes to my health! Anyways, back to the purpose of this post - recapping our weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Ron in St. James Plantation. They rented this beautiful condo overlooking the marina and spoiled us in all ways possible. It was a blast!

Christmas Continued...

Christmas afternoon, my dad and family, Grandma and Ali, Dieter and Colin came to town for the weekend. There was a lot of good food and more presents! Saturday we had my mom and Jerry over for a special wine pairing dinner that Dieter, Ali and Colin orchestrated. I was all about it! The weather continued to be extremely warm, so we took multiple beach walks - it was glorious!
