Fort Fisher Aquarium Field Trip

Danny had his first "official" field trip the other day to the Fort Fisher Aquarium. We're talking a riding an Activity Bus, sack lunch, never-been-this-excited before field trip! Man, field trip days are the best days. I was one of the chaperones of 18 kindergartens...luckily I only had Danny and Miller (a girl) to wrangle. Danny, of course, wanted to run with his buddy, Salvatore (or Sal for short), so me and his mom just teamed up.

Azalea Festival and Aunt Ali

Next up on our "agenda" was celebrating the Azalea Festival with our friend (and my client), Robert. We met at his beautiful house in Wrightsville Beach and then headed over to Dockside and Blue Water. It was a gorgeous day and everybody was out dressed to the nines!

Holy lots of people!

After a lovely afternoon, Jimmy headed home to relieve Nana of babysitting duties and I went to Indochine to meet her and Aunt Ali for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised and didn't have much of a wait at all and even got to sit in one of the fun outdoor huts.

Later that weekend at Nana's condo...

Reading to Aunt Ali
Fishing
Pretending to be asleep
Trying a pickle. Wasn't a fan.
I tried to talk Ali into revealing the name of "baby girl", but she won't budge. I wonder where she learned that from?? So happy that she's had such a good, healthy pregnancy and can't wait to meet the little sweetness.

Bros

Both Danny and Crew are so sweet and loving to Kingston. It's funny though because Kingston definitely takes more to Crew, which I guess is because they are closer in age. They both love cuddling with him on the couch.

Early morning ride to get Donnie Dos inspected
Cheerios - check!
Just hanging at Superior Automotive
Stuck like glue at the library

Danny and Crew are definitely in competitive, stop copying me mode, but then they also have moments of being best buddies.

Visit from Grandma and Wallpapering

Grandpa Ron made Grandma basically do a "tuck and roll" as he dropped her off in Carolina Beach and headed to play golf in Myrtle Beach with friends the other week. She, of course, was happy as can be surrounded by us + Kevin, Stef and her newest nephew, Landon! We had a great couple days complete with dinners in and out, walks, lots of playtime and more. Grandma even got to volunteer with Nana in Danny's classroom one morning and watch Kingston solo while I was working in town. We were so happy to have her and can't wait until she and Ron are down here permanently!

Happy in Grandma's care
Wearing Mexican cheese dip
Pre-cheese dip. Crew being weird.
Chilly State Park walk
Grandma's glasses and Xmas pjs
Me and King twinning. Love his side eye

Last, but not least, that same weekend we finally put up the Martinique wallpaper I've been pining for forever. It's more like a sticker (not glued), which you think would be easier to put up, but Jimmy was not a fan...and that's putting it lightly.

About 2 hours and 15 f-bombs in
The final product. A little wild, but I love it

And just because, here's Kingston being cute post school pics in his little alligator button-up...

Easter 2018

We got home from Charleston just in time for Easter. Luckily - thanks to some help from Nana - I had the baskets and all the "fillers" ready to go! Here was pre-hiding on Saturday night:

Such fortunate children
Just like last year, the Easter Bunny made Crew and Kingston's relatively easy to find, but stumped Danny. In the end, all baskets were found and everyone was happy!

Best I could get

Later that day it was a warm walk on the beach and our first 2018 dinner at the Tiki Bar...

Love the beer title
Short, but sweet post! Another great holiday in the books for the O'Connor clan!
