Nice and Warm

Saturday afternoon we got back to Gpa's house in time for lunch and a mommy/Danny nap. Tweetsie had us both very pooped! After some much needed rest, we made a bonfire which Danny liked to say was "nice and warm".  Then we had a great dinner at home followed by roasted marshmallows! Oh and my dad has a reclining Lazy Boy chair that I wish I could use for the next 6 weeks.

Large and Lazy
I love living at the beach, but it's so nice to visit the Blue Ridge Mountains! So pretty! And the weather was not cold, but cool. A welcomed change for this preggo mama. Last stop before heading out of town with Nana on Sunday (we caught a ride with her since she had a wedding to attend in the mountains as well) was the Altapass Orchard for some sightseeing and apples.

Thanks to everyone who made our weekend so great!

Choo Choo!

Erin was in the NC mountains and our boys had never met before, so I decided to take Danny on a weekend trip to see her and, of course, Gpa and family! Jimmy had to travel for work on Sunday, so he couldn't go with us, but we made the most of it without him.

Saturday we met Erin, Kaeden and her parents at Tweetsie Railroad - a Wild West themed amusement park with a real train. Danny was beside himself and hasn't stopped talking about it since.

Narrowing our Options

Last night Jimmy asked Danny what we should name his baby brother. He gave the always popular "baby brother", but also added "dump truck" and "broccoli". I think we're getting somewhere. One thing's for sure though. His last name will be pronounced "O'Tonnor".

What? You asked.
Speaking of little "broccoli", he's 33 weeks young and starting to make things interesting. I swear my belly has grown exponentially in the last couple weeks, hence the breath-taking right rib pain and fire-breathing acid reflux. Sigh. Good thing being a mom is the greatest thing in the world.

Time to go get Danny for school. Fingers crossed for less tears and anxiety this week. Happy Monday!

Danny Does Preschool

Today was Danny's first day as a "two" at St. James Day School. His adoring teachers are Mrs. King and Mrs. Norris. They're incredibly sweet, as is the director of the school and all the little kiddies. But it was a hard day nonetheless. Danny cried when I left and was crying as his class walked outside to meet their mommies. According to his teachers, "he did great", "he'll adjust" and "there were only minimal tears once he was distracted". Sigh. Break a mama's heart. I know it's going to be great for him and he'll quickly learn to love it, so persevere we will! I just may smother him to death on the mornings he's still with me - Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Dress Rehearsal/Open House on Tuesday

The Main Event Today

Danny usually wakes up at 7:30-8am, but this morning he randomly cried out at 6:45am which afforded us time for some morning cuddles followed by Mickey Mouse pancakes.

End of day a little dazed and confused
Wish us luck on Friday!
