Semi-Sweet

There is not enough time or room in my pre-Danny pants to make all the desserts I've pinned recently. I came down with a major sweet tooth in my 3rd trimester that I just can't kick.

Better than Anything Cake

Twix Brownie

Best Banana Pudding

Chocolate-Coconut Bars

I guess I'll just have to settle for some nibbles on this little guy's toes, fingers, thighs, belly and cheeks!

Blowout Blooper 1 of...

...probably too many to count.

I had an orthodontist appointment the other day. My permanent retainer broke, so I was getting fitted for another one. Danny was sitting in my lap in the dentist chair giving all the ladies googly eyes when I felt a wet explosion. And I was wearing white.

I had to wrap Danny in a couple of those dentist bibs so we could finish the appointment. "Breathe through your nose," said the orthodontist as she took impressions of my mouth, something that kind of makes me gag on a good day. Where will I be and what will I be doing when the next blowout strikes?? His onesie says it all...

What's underneath him was too gross to photograph

Changing Station

In Danny's "old age" he's grown to like diaper and clothes changes. Something about chilling on the changing pad and being partially to fully naked - he's just all coos and smiley. Recently at the changing station...

Boxing an imaginary speed ball
Static cling
Yep, that's pee on the wall. Boys...

Bless you sweet boy...

Danny at 2 Months

Happy 2 months sweet boy! What a difference a month makes! Danny has gotten so fun - super smiley, animated and just perfect in every way. According to Wonder Weeks iphone app, Danny is going through a brain leap right now where he's starting to understand "patterns". Essentially this means he's starting to "get" things like that he has control over his hands, which he immediately has started bringing to his mouth, he follows sounds, etc. Most special, however, is how my voice/singing alone can soothe him. If he wakes up from a nap or is playing by himself in his bouncy chair and starts to cry, I no longer have to pick him up to soothe him. He looks at me and listens to my beautiful (yeah right) singing and calms down. Below are some other tidbits about Danny at 2 months...

Weight: Approximately 11 lbs

Likes: Being held facing out, songs that have repetition like Miss Mary Mack and Wheels on the Bus, his new vibrating bouncy seat, swing, some toys and still adores baths.

Loves his swing just as much as he did on day 3
Dislikes: Being in his car seat (especially when we're not moving) and starting to fight the swaddle a little (especially during the day).

Occasional "arms out" for this guy
Sleeping: We're getting up to 6 hour stretches at night now! I'm really working on the "training" in hopes that Danny is one of those babies that starts sleeping through the night early on. Napping was more of a challenge - he'd only sleep in his swing - but just this week we've successfully had a few good naps in his crib. During naps and at night he has little outbursts of crying, but then puts himself back to sleep - SUCCESS!
Visual evidence
Eating: Nursing still going great. He's also taken a couple Tommee Tippee  bottles of breast milk just to break him in to the idea.

Muffin top
Blowing bubbles

We love you more and more every day Danny boy...

Dad & Beth's Wedding Weekend

We went to the mountains this past weekend to witness and celebrate the marriage of my dad and Beth. It was a joyous occasion complete with a casual ceremony at my dad's, a great dinner out at Bella's Italian restaurant, a trip to Watauga Lake and a cookout back at my dad's. It was so great to introduce Danny to his great grandma, my brother and the Blue Ridge Mountains. The weather was amazingly cool. Below are some pics from the weekend.

Sleepy & Tubby

Fighting sleep on mommy's lap...

I surrender...

For the first time I tried to put Danny in a newborn onesie and it was too small. Someone is getting tubby :)

Danny Smiles

Just within the last week or so Danny has super smiley periods where he totally hams it up for me and Jimmy. It's pretty much the sweetest and most gratifying part of every day. I swear he knows when I whip out my phone and gets a little shy, but here are some shots/videos.

Danny does Indochine

So proud of my little man! He behaved so well while mommy, Stef, Ali, my mom and cousins, Kyle and Maddie, had dinner at Indochine last night. The food was great per usual, but two of their AC units were down and it was insanely busy...per usual...and it's ridiculously hot out, so we were all a little sticky towards the end. Oh and some dumb dumb decided to park their car directly behind mine, so I couldn't get out. Thankfully Stef came to the rescue and eventually found it's owner. Who blocks someone in at a restaurant??? Silly lady.
