Uncle Colin's Birthday

Yesterday we we to dinner for Uncle Colin's birthday. His choice was a Japanese steakhouse and it was so much fun. Danny loved eating little bits of just about everything and all the sights and sounds!

Happy Birthday again, Uncle Colin!

Zones of Destruction

I know it's been a couple days since I've posted. I just haven't been taking as many pictures lately! I'll get back into it. Anyways, below is a picture that captures Danny's 3 "zones of destruction" in our kitchen/dining/great room. I don't even know why I bother picking up ;)

The Two Best Times of the Day

I really think that babies right after naps are just the best and my baby is no exception. They're so warm and snuggly and so happy to see you. I swear Danny is thinking as I walk into his nursery, "oh my gosh, you came to get me. you really did. you love me so much and i love you so much too!!" Here's some pics of Danny looking cute, happy and excited after his nap...

Danny at 11 Months

(1 day late because I couldn't get his monthly picture in yesterday!)

Tear. Our baby boy is 11 months old today, 1 short month shy of not being a baby anymore. How did this happen so fast?? He is such an amazingly sweet, funny, smart and spunky little booger. He's a man on a mission, always on the move. Doesn't want to lay on his back or stay still during diaper changes. Can't be bothered sitting in the bath tub, when he could just stand. Loves being chased as you say, "I'm going to get you." Babbles constantly. Says "mmmmmm" whenever he sees anyone eating - the boy loves to eat! He gives the cutest little Cheshire Cat grin with his hands on his hips when he's happy. He's starting to recognize when onlookers think he's being especially cute. I have no doubt he'll start to "perform" soon. He does this not-so-cute temper tantrum, throw his head back in defiance act. Oh well, he can't be perfect. He walks with his walker toy and cruises around furniture, but has yet to take any unassisted steps. Stay tuned. We are so unbelievably lucky to have such a wonderful little baby, almost toddler, boy. We love you Danny!

Weight: Scale is broken :(

Words (new category): Dada and Baba (Mama)

Likes: Reading books, being chased, walks in the stroller, Malloy, iPhone, feeding himself, "exploring" my diaper bag/Jimmy's briefcase, "exploring" pantry and other cabinet contents, shutting and opening doors, tearing apart toilet paper, dancing/music (favorite is the oldies on Van Morrison Pandora radio), riding in the cart at the grocery store

Dislikes: Sadly the ocean and pools, the word "no", laying still for diaper changes, putting on sunscreen, sitting in the bathtub

Sleeping: Still sleeping great at night and we're actually in a period of pretty good napping right now, which I'll chalk up to a fluke for fear of jinxing myself. I will say though that he definitely doesn't sleep well on the beach. He's in the shade, there is a nice breeze, the sound of ocean waves, what's not to like? For a very beach oriented family, this is a bit concerning. MUST.MAKE.HIM.LEARN.TO.LOVE.ALL.THINGS.BEACH

Eating: What doesn't he eat?? Well, not peanut butter, honey, eggs, strawberries, shellfish - the high allergy and botulism threat foods - but pretty much everything else. Still rocking the rice and oatmeal cereals. New favorites include turkey breast, quinoa and whole peas. Speaking of quinoa, I make sure he has protein with every meal, ie. turkey, quinoa or greek yogurt. In Florida he tried some of Nana's grouper and loved it! We're definitely in the phase of feeding him bits of our food out at restaurants and experimenting with meals at home as well. And while it's a little sloppy still, he loves to feed himself.

Teeth: 2 on the bottom + 1 on top and 1 on bottom currently breaking through and surprisingly still in good spirits.

Danny Does Florida!

We just got back yesterday afternoon from our fun-filled trip to visit my grandma, Danny's great grandma, in Naples, Florida. It was Danny's first plane ride and he did great. The weather was amazing and my grandma was a terrific host per usual. Though we had so much fun, we were happy to get home to see Jimmy. I have too many favorite pictures to choose just a couple, so bear with me...

Naps were few and far between

Midday Mickey

Thank heavens for TiVo technology. Danny just lights up, and ignores me for a few minutes, when I put Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on...

Bath Faces

I know I am obsessed with taking pictures of my baby and pretty much think he can't take a bad one, but I have to say that this series of pictures of Jimmy and Danny during bath time has to be my FAVORITE. Danny has gotten so expressive - grinning so big he can't see and then doing this adorable underbite grunt and howl (at the moon like). These pictures do a good job of capturing his budding little personality and I just love them. Enjoy!

Who turned out the lights??
Underbite grunt
Underbite howl
Loves him some daddy

Danny and I are currently in Florida with Nana visiting my Grandma. Updates on our visit to come!

Big Boy

I just can't get over how much of a little boy Danny looks like in these pictures...

HAPPY FRIDAY!

Mmm...Socks!

Danny makes this adorable "mmm" sound whenever he sees someone eating or wants another bite. And the kids LOVES to eat. I hope he keeps this up and remains an adventurous and eager little eater.

Would eat them if he could

Surf Practice

We had a couple yucky, rainy days last week, so we had to get creative with our entertainment. Jimmy was happy to see that I've seemingly started Danny's surf training...

Killing Time

As many of you know, we've listed our house, which means pretty frequent showings. Working from home and having a baby that's pretty accustomed to his schedule poses some challenges when trying to accommodate realtors and potential buyers. The house MUST be spotless and look more staged than lived in. I have to get me, Danny and Malloy out of the house for between an hour and 2 hours at random times during the day. So, needless to say, we often end up running random errands, looking worse for wear.
Trying on hats in our PJs
And, on this occasion, because Daddy was home for Easter holiday, having a beer at Fat Pelican in the middle of the day, again, with Danny in his pajamas.

Oxford

I put Danny in a baby Oxford shirt for his photo op with the scary Easter bunny. During lunch after we got home, he drenched himself in water. This is him mid-costume change. With some tall, white socks, he'd be giving Tom Cruise in Risky Business a run for his money...
