Splashing and Swimming

Another recent trip to the Hugh McRae splash pad. Danny was "too cool" to participate on this day, to which Crew and Kingston said "more fun for us!"

Followed by some DQ treats
Crew recently underwent two weeks of ISR (survival swim) refreshers from last summer and after he stopped fussing before each lesson he did really good! Amazing to see him learn this skill and be so proud of himself for the accomplishment.

Danny babysitting during Crew's lesson
Gearing up
Getting dried off
Celebrating end of week 1 with donuts
Comfy as can be in starfish pose
With his fish eyes on
I took lots of videos, but this one best exemplifies Crew's ability to "self-save" vs. panic.

Practicing his swimming (or rather just playing) in Chad and Lindsay's new dipping pool! Thanks to Gemma and Casher for sharing all their floats and toys!

Southport and Sunset Beach

Next up for us was an overnight stay in Southport to visit with Grandma and Grandpa Ron. Their house is now underway and we're so excited for them! In the meantime, we're still in the rental condos and the boys love it! Had so much fun with a morning at the pool and then another pizza and cupcake pool session for dinner.

Ferry boat breakfast
King photo bombing Kev and Stef's family photo
In awe of baby Landon
Cheese

And then we ventured down to Sunset Beach to see Jimmy's college roommate Jon Hueshdash and his family, including 4 kiddos. We've been seeing each other (almost) every summer for years and it's always great to catch up. I absolutely love Sunset Beach where they vacation - reminds me so much of neighboring Holden Beach where I grew up going as a family. Oh the low rolling waves, wide beach and tide pools.

It's great to have family and friends in high and beautiful places!

Can't We All Just Get Along?

Surprisingly, yes! Despite differences in age and personalities, communal toys and all the recent changes for our family, the boys have had some great quality time together as of late. They also want to kill each other a lot, but we have to take the good with the bad, right?

Buckets of fun!
With special lovies
Danny reading to his brothers
Danny leading Crew in some learning apps
"Playing" at a local toy store
Power of Play
King and Crew found some firefighter friends
More Kingston cuteness
Pre-haircut
Tandem Chic-Fil-A slide riding
Best post nap hair ever

Fun Before (and After) the Disc Mishap

It's summer and the O'Connor fam is busy, busy, busy. Aside from figuring out plans for our next house, we've had a lot of CB visitors and play dates! First up in my vault of ever accumulating pics, King and Crew playing on the beach with cups and buckets, a.k.a. the best beach toys ever!

About a month ago now (while I was recovering from a raging case of strep throat), Danny hit me in the forehead with a disc golf disc. I was off to the side, nowhere near, or in line, with the temporary net Jimmy and Kevin had set up when I got a hard, point blank shot to the noggin. This pic below was after a lot of ice. To give you an idea of the impact, I still have a bump over a month later.

King and Crew oblivious to what just happened
I rallied and we still went to Hang Ten for dinner
Trying to make up for it with a smile
Making the "O" face like Danny used to
Random, but this kid ALWAYS has his hands in his pants
Solo grocery store date with mommy...in his jammies
No interest in pacis until 22 months??
