At Least It's Not the Flu

With cold temps and winter come sniffles and other sicknesses. It's tough having unhappy kiddos that have to stay home from school, but all I can say is it could be worse. With the severity of flu this year, we have to count our blessings!

At the library before our first bout of sickness...

Crew ran a high fever for 24 hours, but then was otherwise okay. When asked where he felt bad, it was, "My head. No, my leg. No, my neck."

Not his normal chipper self
Feeling better and hanging with King
And then getting Kingston up from his nap on Wednesday, he sounded like he had croup. Here he is feeling so miserable that he's wants to cuddle with Crew while mommy makes dinner.

Fast forward to Friday, two days later, and his fever continues. Here he is with 103 temp. Poor guy. Went to the doc and it turns out it's not croup, flu, strep or ear infection. Just something else viral.

Rosy cheeks to match his Santa pjs
I thought he was on the mend on Saturday AM, so decided to let him get some fresh air while the older boys went shark tooth hunting in Fort Fisher. But when he fell asleep in my arms, I knew he was still feeling pretty cruddy and low and behold, his fever is back.

In healthier times, here is lunch with all three boys. For better or for worse, these crazies are my life!

Leisurely Walk in Fort Fisher

This past weekend we met Papa for a quick walk to the Basin in Fort Fisher. It was a surprisingly uneventful excursion with very little whining and no one had to be carried or bribed to keep going. Can I get a hallelujah?!?

Kingston's Well Check-up

Last week Nana watched Crew so I could take Kingston to his well check-up solo. I swear it's like a vacation going anywhere with just him. In exciting news, he's up to the 40th percentile in weight. That's amazing considering he was .075th percentile at one point. Dr. Beth was just eating him up - who wouldn't? Poor guy was all smiles until his 3 shots...

Business as Usual and Exciting Times!

January has continued to be a busy time of school, meals, housework, homework, check-ups and work, but we're hanging in there and making the most of it!

Reading books and sorting cars with Nana
Puppy dog eyes
Sweet boy
Thank the lord for wine
At Crew's check-up - 93rd percentile in height!
Playing at work with mommy
Scooting around the neighborhood to "get some energy" says Crew

At the Fort Fisher Aquarium on MLK day. It was free, so everyone in their mother was there. It was just me and the three boys! It took me 30 mins of driving around to find a parking spot and I nearly lost all of them in the crowds, so we only lasted a short while!

"Speak softly and carry a big (cheese) stick."

Danny reading to Crew, in his undies, while Crew goes #2. Brotherly love.

And, last but certainly not least, in VERY exciting news, Ali and Dieter found out they are having a baby GIRL!! Can't wait to spoil that sweetie and impart my motherly advice on my baby sister! Life is good!

Welcome Landon!

On 1/8/18, Stef and Kevin had their sweet baby boy, Landon, and we are all smitten! He's just adorable and mom and dad seem to be adjusting wonderfully! Congrats to them and welcome to the family, Landon!

Papa and Lita watched our three kiddos, so Jimmy and I could visit them in the hospital...and my ovaries are now aching!

A couple days later on a visit to their house with Aunt Kelly, in town to meet this sweetheart...

Some Danny love

Some Crew love

Hanging with cousins, Connor and Shane, at Papa and Lita's house.
