Happy New Years!

Cheers to a happy and healthy 2013! I'm not ashamed to admit that this is a scheduled post and we're currently sleeping away in our beds. 2012 decided to show us who's boss and gave Danny (and now us) a mild case of the flu. Luckily Jimmy and I are feeling good enough to have a glass of bubbly to ring in the new year...

Operation Spoil Danny: Part 4

Our fourth and final Christmas was at my mom's place back in Carolina Beach. In typical fashion, Nana made sure to keep the holiday spirit alive until the very end. We played games, ate lots of good food and opened an absurd amount of presents. It was such a wonderful end to Danny's first Christmas...and then Danny came down with a fever and cough :(

In better spirits...

Now Danny can go on bike rides with us!
Still looking a little sick
Love you to the moon Nana
Thanks for everything mom!

Operation Spoil Danny: Part 3

After a long and rather fussy 7 hour drive, we were in Newland, NC for Part 3! Danny got to see my Grandma and take part in his first inaugural fondue dinner. We also continued to eat well and get lots of good gifts. See a common theme? We even got to see a little snow. Woo hoo!

Happy little family
Love you G-pa
Thanks for everything Dad & Beth! Danny loves his new toys! Stay tuned for Part 4...

Operation Spoil Danny: Part 2

Part 2 of Operation Spoil Danny commenced at Dan and Marisol's. Uncle Jamie and his gang came over and we had a wonderful dinner and post-dinner shenanigans. Danny and Connor loved every minute of it. Dan and Marisol proceeded to spoil us all again with awesome gifts! We are truly one lucky family!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas family & friends! Below is that nose crinkle smile I've mentioned...

On Danny's Christmas list...

  • A pile of baby socks
  • An iPhone
  • Endless bowl of rice cereal
  • TOYS, TOYS, TOYS
Something tells me the boy is going to be spoiled rotten when we're done with all our festivities!

My Buddy

As I said in our 7 months post, Danny has become increasingly obsessed with Malloy, craning his neck to watch him walk by and smiles when he sees him. Here's a video of them getting acquainted, or in dog lingo, Malloy licking him incessantly.

Danny at 7 Months

As I said during our 6 month recap, we can no longer do the chalkboard next to Danny. He's WAY too curious.
Why is the chalkboard up there, mom?
Because you'll destroy it sweet boy...
Oh geez where do I start with Danny at 7 months. He "dive bombs" for my iPhone and anything else he wants (NEEDS, HAS TO HAVE), sometimes to the point where he's hard to hold onto. He's just started this funny shiver thing when he gets a random chill. His smile has also evolved to this adorable little crinkled nose grin. He's becoming more and more fascinated by Malloy and, I think, getting kind of close to crawling. He doesn't quite know how to hug yet, but he does grab onto me, squeeze and open mouth kisses my shoulder. All in all, I can't even imagine a more perfect little boy and I'm beyond thrilled thinking about sharing him with our families this coming week. Seven months is a great age!

Weight: 16.9

Likes: Malloy, food, baths, when mom dances to "the hotdog dance", socks, when dad sings the alphabet song, when strangers fuss over him, wrapping paper, being naked.

Dislikes: The end of meals, being up past 7:30pm, riding in the car.

Sleeping: Danny continues to sleep all night without feedings, but has recently started waking at 1-2am and whines a little before falling back to sleep. He also wakes super early, often in the 5am timeframe. Fingers crossed it's just a phase. If not, maybe I'll just start working out in the morning...like I have not done in, er, 7 months.

Eating: The boy likes to eat! He opens WIDE like a little bird for every bite and cries at the end of every meal. I've also started adding garlic to his green vegetables and cinnamon to his sweet potatoes and apples, which he seems to like as well. We're close to incorporating bite size pieces of soft foods like bananas, avocados, peaches, etc.

You sure Santa knows where I'll be Christmas morning?

Random Cuteness

Happy Wednesday! Here are some random cute Danny pics for you...

You want to know what's not so cute? Danny consistently waking up at 5am. I think he's already taking after his Granddad O'Connor. I guess on a positive note at least I have productive mornings...

Baby's 1st Ornament

I picked up this adorable little ornament at Hallmark the other day. I want to start a tradition where we get Danny, and future babies, a special ornament each year. I think this is a perfect "first" for his collection.
