Charleston Weekend

We recently hit up Charleston, SC for a couple things for our house and - for better or for worse - made a little family trip out of it. Let's just say that after hours of shopping and missed naps, both boys were a bit feisty. Dinner out was a little dramatic and our night in the hotel a little restless. We made memories though, right?

Oh Christmas Tree

We're ready for Christmas, how about you?!? The tree went up the weekend after Thanksgiving and we've just been shopping and prepping away since. My family gets here tomorrow to kick off the festivities.

And then the first weekend in December Ali came to town to celebrate my mom's big 60th (woo hoo!) and we all attended the Carolina Beach Christmas Parade. I'm not sure that I've ever seen anyone as happy or excited as Danny was that night. It was insanity.

Pretty much sums it up

We also hit up Enchanted Airlie with the Henson family for some pretty outdoor light displays.

Before We Were Four

Our home builder, who is also one of my clients, had a photographer take some pictures of our home along with recording a video testimonial of our customer experience. It's rare to get us all together, so I really treasure these. Crew is in the picture too - in my belly! These were taken on October 22nd and Crew was born just two days later on October 24th! Don't let Danny's angelic pose fool you!

All Done

This series of pictures is a week or so old. Danny has since really taken to hugging and kissing Crew like crazy. He says all the time, "watch me, mama, I pet Crew". Too sweet. Anyways, I still wanted to share these pictures. After asking to hold Crew, Danny promptly told me that he was "all done" and wanted him promptly removed.

Martha's Birthday Weekend

Friday, November 28, was Grandma Martha's birthday so we spent the day having lunch and sight-seeing in St. James - she and Ron's future home. The boys were matching outfits compliments of Grandma. Today, December 4, is my mom's birthday (Happy Birthday Mom/Nana!), so it was sort of a joint celebration for both moms. Fun was had by all!

Later that evening...

Saturday we did some Christmas decorating and then hit up Freddie's in Kure Beach for dinner. Yum!

Turkey Day Recap

We kicked off our Thanksgiving festivities with lunch at Danny's preschool the Monday before last.

We also started reading Elf on a Shelf early Thanksgiving week to try and get Danny hyped up about the whole thing. We've named our little elf friend Lopez. Danny thinks it's cool to find him in the mornings, but doesn't really care that he's watching when he's being naughty.

And then Thursday, Thanksgiving, my mom and I spent the day cooking up a storm and Martha and Ron got into town at about noon. We ate about 6ish and it was delicious if I do say so myself! Huge thank you to my mom for running the show because, let's face it, my focus is a little fragmented these days.

Crew at 1 Month (over a week late!)

November 24th marked Crew's 1 month birthday and with the Thanksgiving holiday and having company (Martha and Ron), I didn't get time to do his little photo shoot until now. Anyways, he's officially over a month old now and changing so much and just growing like a little weed!

As far as temperament goes, he's a little bit of a fussy baby, I'm not going to lie. Struggles with gas, burping and spit-up more than Danny ever did, but the doc reassures us that he'll grow out of it. Pretty darn happy if he's been jostled to sleep and someone is holding him constantly, but who has time for that?!? Loves riding in the car, shopping carts, etc - any motion. Very alert and great at holding up his head. Nurses pretty often, including throughout the night, but he's still very young. Utterly adorable and still sporting true blue eyes - hoping by some miracle they stay that way. He's not sure about Danny's stronghold hugs, but will surely learn to love them! Happy (belated) One Month Crew Hale! We love you!

Special thank you to my Aunt Cherie for making another great quilt! I know the boys will really cherish them!
