Bums, Bikes and Books

The boys love showering together! Jimmy usually does them in an "assembly line" and it can be chaos, but they actually do pretty well together when I just supervise from the outside. I think it's Danny and Crew's natural brotherly instinct kicking in...

It's a full moon!
Danny is loving riding his bike without training wheels. He could have obviously done it a while ago, but was just so into his scooter that we didn't even try. Now he's loving both and has even more options for burning some energy.

All my boys love books, which just warms my heart! Here are Crew and Kingston at our local library the other day...

Now on a sour note, we almost made it through flu season...until Crew fell down with Flu B. His teacher emailed that she tested positive and like clockwork, he woke up from his nap with a fever. But the next day, he was seemingly fine, just fussy, so it wasn't until 2 whiny days later that I finally took him in and poor guy tested positive. Luckily it was the B strain, which is less severe and short-lived, and so far no one else in our family has gotten it!

My small lap is not much of a quarantine zone
Oh and the Tarheels lost, taking them out of the 2018 NCAA tournament. Whomp whomp. We had fun pre-gaming and up until half time though...

Shake your Shamrocks

Next up was St. Patrick's Day! We had some new porch furniture delivered, so daddy made Danny and Crew awesome trucks out of the boxes. I swear it's insane how much we spend on toys and "stuff" when these boxes created days of imaginative play.

Followed by some impromptu disc golf and dinner. The fourth pic is Crew following in Uncle Kevin's footsteps and peeing on the 8th hole.

Always loving on each other

Week of Firsts

Recently, we had week of a couple different notable "firsts". Like Danny's first post-school play date. Tanner lives two houses behind the first house we owned, which was super close to CB Elementary, so he got to be a "walker" with Tanner's mom and older sister.

And then it was time for Crew's first dentist appointment. Maybe a little later than his first appointment was supposed to be, but who's keeping track. He was all smiles until it was almost his turn. Laying on top of me in the chair, he was fine and ultimately did great!

Giving him the low-down in the waiting room
Taking it all in
Feeling a little apprehensive

And then it was Danny's first lacrosse practice with the Cape Fear Lacrosse Association. He put up a little fight, just as a sign of independence, but it was a step in the right direction and his next practice he did great!

Glitz and Glamour

One of my favorite nights of the whole year is Oscars Sunday! I love the red carpet dresses and over-the-top speeches and seeing which of my favorite movies/performers win! It's in my blood. My grandma Heintzelman has always been a movie buff and gotten into the Oscars. Same with my brother and mom. In years past, my mom and I have gotten together for the night, but alas, with three young boys, it wasn't in the cards this year. So I recorded it and she and I watched the highlights after putting the boys to bed the other night (Jimmy was out of town). So great to skip the commercials and just get to the good stuff!

Pre-bedtime watching America's Funniest Home Videos
Hug/Choke Hold
Movie stars have plastic surgeons, stylists and hair/make-up people while I'm over here pushing a giant double seat shopping cart at Target.

...but I wouldn't trade my boys for the world!

Ready for Spring

Our weather has been so up and down lately giving us a taste of spring and then bringing us back to reality with frigid temps like the weekend before last. So, so ready for it to be permanently warm!

Freezing their butts off at the BBQ festival
Hanging with their buddy, Liz, the manager at Hang Ten
Digging for gold apparently
With their Thailand souvenirs from Mike and Lori
It's really cold out here, mom!
But still so pretty...
