Back-to-School for Crew and Kingston

As I write this, I'm in Sugar Grove, NC evacuated from Carolina Beach as a result of Hurricane Florence. We've been here for a little less than a week with no immediate plan for making it home, so I'm a little turned around and LATE on this post. Anyways, the St. James Day School year started for Kingston and Crew started on September 5th and they had a great couple days before this darn storm drove us all out of town!

At Open House on September 4th where they saw their new classrooms and met their teachers - Mrs. Bridgers (Kingston) and Mrs. Bullard (Crew).

Official First Day! No tears. Only excitement at drop-off and smiles at pick-up.

Kingston Turns 2

August 31st marked Kingston's big 2nd birthday! It's just amazing to see how much he's leaped and changed over the last couple months. Definitely acting more like a big boy, but continues to be such a sweetheart and a lover. It is funny though because like clockwork, right around the day he turned 2, he started the classic temper tantrums and fits! Good thing he's cute because he's a piece of work when he gets going!

So we can always remember, here are some specific notes about the old Kingster at 2 years old:

  • Clearly says Danny, daddy and mommy, but calls Crew "two"
  • Says "a sheesh. a miltch" when he wants something to drink. Miltch = milk, I get, but not sure about "sheesh"
  • Calls snack "snatch" and likes them a lot. "Trash" sounds about the same, which can be confusing
  • Loves eating, football and "shee-shee" (a.k.a. Mickey)
  • Has just started teasing by adding "ha ha" when for example he steals Crew's spot on the couch, e.g. "I spot. Ha ha"
  • Has the best belly laugh in the world
  • Runs pretty fast despite being a little "round" and does so by propelling his arms around
  • Goes to sleep really easily and sleeps well
  • Says "mo" instead of "no"
  • Has just started getting into pointing out colors. So far everything is "yeyyow"
Lucky fellow opened presents with our little family and then had a second celebration with extended family, including Martha and Ron in town from Maryland.

Cute video Aunt Stef took (though it's sideways) of all of us singing him "Happy Birthday":

We love you so much King/Kingston Rock/Kingsters!

Back-to-School for Danny

With all the boys starting school shortly, Danny first on August 27th, we had some preparations to take care of like hair cuts and shopping. I used to LOVE back-to-school shopping and getting all my supplies when I was little. Danny could care less and opted to let me pick things out for him. Initially a little bummed, I perked right up when I got to walk around Target BY MYSELF the other day.

SO BORED and ready for school
