NC State Fair

I took the boys to my sister's house in Chapel Hill for the weekend in mid-October to visit with family and attend the NC State Fair that Saturday with everyone. It was so great to see Ali, baby Etta, my dad, Beth, Mac, Colin, Dieter and cousin Maddie who now teaches 8th grade in the area! The fair was craziness with a party of our size and trying not to lose everyone, but it was fun!

Checking Danny out of school early
Gpa and King dog whispering
Can I keep her?
Awesome toy train at the fair
In awe of the ostrich costume
Slushies (not pictured: other unhealthy things)
I think he was drinking sweet tea here. Oh well!
Gpa with his youngest grandkids
Danny always throwing the hand signs
Apparently Kingston likes blooming onions?
Etta cuddles
Leaving the fair with Uncle Colin
Ready for our camp fire!

Crew's First Soccer Game

A couple weeks ago Crew had his first soccer game. Our whole family was there + papa. We got spanked by the other team, Crew just wanted to drink water, Danny had a temper tantrum and Kingston was all over the place. Since then, I've been the only one to attend his games! Crew is definitely that kid that just smiles and waves at me as he runs by me vs. even attempting to kick the ball. It's pretty cute, but it's also too bad that he's not more into it, because he's big and fast and could probably be good if he cared.

Danny's still at it with lacrosse and getting better with every practice. He even scored during a recent scrimmage!

Lastly, here's all three boys at a birthday party at Carolina Gymnastics for Danny's friend, Blaen. Burning energy, pizza and cupcakes are always a winning combo in their eyes!

School Days

Here are some cute pics I stole from St. James Day School's Facebook pages of Crew and Kingston. Love having that little portal into their day!
Gender roles much?

And on a recent field trip with Crew's class to Old McFaye's Farm.

Last but not least, ice cream date at Kiliwins!
For Danny, it's been a "lack there of" in terms of school. The county was out for over 3 weeks because of Hurricane Florence, which meant that he had to hang with me while Crew and Kingston were at preschool in the mornings for a week. But we made the best of it...

Lunch at Sweet & Savory
Breakfast at Dixie Grill
Working at Port City Java
Donut by the Cape Fear River before...
Attending a doc appt with me. Yikes!
Smoothie while working at Port City Java again
Lunch at Double Happiness

Fleeing Florence: Part 2

While both the flooding and fun continued...

Linville Falls hike with Gpa and Beth
Under the tree from the "Last of the Mohican" scene
Fishing pre-lunch
Conked out on the couch
Picking dinner at Gpa and Beth's later that night
Mac teaching them how to hoe for potatoes
Very proud of himself
Wild and free
Casher helping Kingston up the hill
Stomping in the creek for salamanders
Japanese steakhouse with 9 kids (7 of which were boys)
Boone Walmart for the win
Rainy barn dodgeball
Gem mining - awesome find, Kingston!
Tubby time

Party of five
Another day. Another fish.
It was a long 10 hr drive home taking alternate routes
We made it home and, beyond being exhausted, we felt incredibly blessed to have no damage to any personal property and to have had such a great time during our Flo evacuation. Now if all hurricanes could just avoid our coast completely moving forward that would be great!
