Happy Birthday to Me!

I must take after my mom because I'm milking this milestone birthday for all it's worth! Celebrations started in Charlotte last week and carried throughout the weekend. Finally, we'll be heading to Charleston in late March to pick out my bday present from Jimmy and Danny - something awesome for our new house from one of the many coastal/eclectic home furnishing stores there. Woo hoo! Very unfortunate that I couldn't see everyone I love for this birthday, but everyone has been with me in spirit!

Mid-Week Trip to Charlotte

This past week, Danny and I took a trip to Charlotte to visit with Shiva (in town from San Fran), Catherine and Sarah. It was great, per usual, to catch up with old friends, and really fun to see Danny and Hazel (Catherine's daughter) interact. Danny acted at times like he was too cool for her, but I think he secretly loves her as he still hasn't stopped asking for "hey-all".

Happy Valentines Day!

While the sentiment is certainly not exclusive to Valentines Day, it must be said today that I'm the luckiest gal in the whole world with Jimmy and Danny by my side. I couldn't love them more if I tried!

Insta-Lately

Nothing really new for us to report. We just continue to be amazed by what a sweet and smart boy Danny has become. His newest thing is to make me call people on his fake phone. Fresh out of ideas for calls to make, I pretended to order a pizza the other day. Now every five seconds he says, "Um pizza. Buh bye." He continues to be a huge fan of Mickey Mouse and he has quite a collection of "stuff". He now acknowledges "TWO MIMMY!!" when he sees his basket full of Mickeys or his sticker book full of his favorite little mouse. Speaking of Mickey, I experienced my first test of "you can't buy him everything he wants" while at Walgreens yesterday.  The pure joy and excitement on his face when he discovered a Mickey toy at his eye level would just melt your heart. Alas, I resisted and he handled it well. Heaven help his doting aunts, uncles and grandparents.

Weekend Walks

Winter around here has been very mild, save for the freak snow/ice storm, so we've been taking Danny on a lot of walks lately to burn off some steam! We're only half a mile from our new house, so we walk there a lot. We also went this past weekend on another hike in the Carolina Beach State Park.

And while I was away in Asheville missing my favorite guys, they were...completely fine without me.

Ali's Last Fling

This past weekend I was in Asheville for Ali's "Last Fling Before the Ring". We stayed in a super cute house, ate good, saw the sights and had minimal drunken drama. All in all, it was a wonderful weekend. So fun to see some of Ali's friends that I hadn't seen in a while and meet some of her newer friends. She has a great crew and an adoring fiancé - very lucky girl! Can't wait for her nuptials in April!
