Danny at 11 Months

(1 day late because I couldn't get his monthly picture in yesterday!)

Tear. Our baby boy is 11 months old today, 1 short month shy of not being a baby anymore. How did this happen so fast?? He is such an amazingly sweet, funny, smart and spunky little booger. He's a man on a mission, always on the move. Doesn't want to lay on his back or stay still during diaper changes. Can't be bothered sitting in the bath tub, when he could just stand. Loves being chased as you say, "I'm going to get you." Babbles constantly. Says "mmmmmm" whenever he sees anyone eating - the boy loves to eat! He gives the cutest little Cheshire Cat grin with his hands on his hips when he's happy. He's starting to recognize when onlookers think he's being especially cute. I have no doubt he'll start to "perform" soon. He does this not-so-cute temper tantrum, throw his head back in defiance act. Oh well, he can't be perfect. He walks with his walker toy and cruises around furniture, but has yet to take any unassisted steps. Stay tuned. We are so unbelievably lucky to have such a wonderful little baby, almost toddler, boy. We love you Danny!

Weight: Scale is broken :(

Words (new category): Dada and Baba (Mama)

Likes: Reading books, being chased, walks in the stroller, Malloy, iPhone, feeding himself, "exploring" my diaper bag/Jimmy's briefcase, "exploring" pantry and other cabinet contents, shutting and opening doors, tearing apart toilet paper, dancing/music (favorite is the oldies on Van Morrison Pandora radio), riding in the cart at the grocery store

Dislikes: Sadly the ocean and pools, the word "no", laying still for diaper changes, putting on sunscreen, sitting in the bathtub

Sleeping: Still sleeping great at night and we're actually in a period of pretty good napping right now, which I'll chalk up to a fluke for fear of jinxing myself. I will say though that he definitely doesn't sleep well on the beach. He's in the shade, there is a nice breeze, the sound of ocean waves, what's not to like? For a very beach oriented family, this is a bit concerning. MUST.MAKE.HIM.LEARN.TO.LOVE.ALL.THINGS.BEACH

Eating: What doesn't he eat?? Well, not peanut butter, honey, eggs, strawberries, shellfish - the high allergy and botulism threat foods - but pretty much everything else. Still rocking the rice and oatmeal cereals. New favorites include turkey breast, quinoa and whole peas. Speaking of quinoa, I make sure he has protein with every meal, ie. turkey, quinoa or greek yogurt. In Florida he tried some of Nana's grouper and loved it! We're definitely in the phase of feeding him bits of our food out at restaurants and experimenting with meals at home as well. And while it's a little sloppy still, he loves to feed himself.

Teeth: 2 on the bottom + 1 on top and 1 on bottom currently breaking through and surprisingly still in good spirits.
