Danny's 1st Day of Kindergarten

Tuesday, 8/28 was Danny's 1st day of kindergarten! He's going to Carolina Beach Elementary and his teacher is Mrs. Jackson with teacher's aide, Mrs. Childers. Tuesday was his "staggered start" day, so it was only him and a couple other classmates. Today, however, it will be the whole class and he's riding the bus home in the afternoon! I'll get him a 2 blocks away at the bus stop. My baby is growing up! He's done so well and is really excited about the new adventure!

Other Summer Fun

We've had such a great summer and the boys are just growing up so quickly. I'm so proud of who they've become (most of the time) and I'm just trying to soak it all in. Crew especially has gone through a little brain leap and now says the darnedest things. Talks more like a little surfer dude than a toddler, like, "oh my gosh, that's totally cool," and "when we get there, I'm just gonna freak out. I so excited." It kills me how old and mature Danny is looking these days, but then again, he's about to start kindergarten next week! I'd definitely be lying if I said I wasn't excited about the routine that the school year brings, but the end of summertime is always bittersweet. It's definitely been a shark tooth hunting and snowballs (it's hot here!) kind of summer lately...

As I mentioned in Kingston's 11 month post, he's not walking yet, but loves to pull up on everything and scoot along the coffee table, etc. You could definitely say he's preferring to be vertical and on the move these days!

St. James Staycation

Who needs a vacation when you can stay with Grandma and Grandpa Ron in St. James?!? We recently spent the week in the Southport area and had so much fun fishing, swimming, eating out, sleeping together at night - all five from my family - slumber party style and, of course, visiting with one another!
